Pavamana Suktam with Meanings

Pavamana Suktam

Verse 1: hiraṇyavarṇāḥ śucayaḥ pāvakā... |
Meaning: May the golden-hued, bright, and purifying waters, in which the sage Kashyapa and Lord Indra were born, and which contain the multi-formed Fire (Agni) as their womb, be auspicious and gracious to us.

Verse 4: śivēna mā cakṣuṣā paśyatāpaś-śivayā... |
Meaning: O Waters! Look upon me with your auspicious eye; touch my skin with your healing form. I invoke all the Fires that reside in the waters; may you bestow upon me spiritual luster, strength, and vital energy.

Verse 5: pavamānassuvarjanaḥ pavitrēṇa vicarṣaṇiḥ... |
Meaning: May the purifying Divine Being (Pavamana), who is the creator of light and all-seeing, cleanse me. May the gods, the ancestors, and all living beings purify me through their wisdom.

Conclusion: May the thousand-streamed Pavamana mantras, collected by the Rishis and containing the essence of nectar, purify us in this world and the world beyond.
