Sri Kalahasti is one of the Pancha Bhoota Sthalas representing the five elements, and here Shiva is worshipped as the lingam representing Vayu (air) — famously, the flame of the temple's eternal lamp flickers even in still air, said to demonstrate the unseen movement of wind at this spot. The temple is also widely known as a center for Rahu-Ketu pujas performed to relieve astrological doshas.
పంచభూత క్షేత్రాల్లో ఒకటైన శ్రీకాళహస్తిలో శివుడు వాయు లింగంగా పూజలందుకుంటాడు. ఇక్కడి నిత్య జ్యోతి గాలి లేని చోట కూడా అల్లాడుతూ ఉండటం ఈ క్షేత్ర ప్రత్యేకత. జాతకంలోని రాహు-కేతు దోషాల నివారణకు ఇక్కడ చేసే పూజలు దేశవ్యాప్తంగా ప్రసిద్ధి చెందాయి.
